Controlled – a microcontroller workshop

After the basic exploration of analog electronic life during the last semester, we want to continue the evolution of the robots in this workshop. The implementation of a brain in form of a Atmel microprocessor integrates additional features like memory and communication as well as smaller technology. This means more flexibility, better anticipation and even smaller robots. We use these characteristics for  a new approach and new developments for the design of the robots – especially for the concept of mobility, look and interaction.
Besides showing some basic knowledge of microprocessors and the programming language BASIC, we focus on the experimental design in the context of electronics and minimal robotics. The conceptual approach is the distinction of simple analog creatures and more complex interaction in electronic life form. This workshop is part of the electronic life forms project.
